We\u2019re pleased about the Government of Canada\u2019s\u00a0announcement<\/a>\u00a0yesterday that they intend to make changes to the\u00a0Canada Small Business Financing Program<\/a>. Allowing more small businesses to access financing is good for job creation and the economy. This news is especially timely for us because business growth is a hot topic this year \u2013 it\u2019s the focal point for\u00a0Action Entrepreneurship 2015<\/em><\/a>! This focus on growth came out of the last year\u2019s\u00a0Action Entrepreneurship<\/em>\u00a0post-event plan,\u00a0Unlocking the Power of Youth Entrepreneurship: An Action Plan for Canada<\/em><\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0which outlines over 80 recommendations for creating a more entrepreneurial Canada.<\/p>\n

We kicked off the first of 12\u00a0Action Entrepreneurship<\/em>\u00a02015\u00a0<\/em>roundtables this past Wednesday in Toronto, where a group of entrepreneurs and leaders from government, business, non-profit and educational organizations gathered to discuss the challenges and opportunities for business growth affecting young entrepreneurs in Canada.<\/p>\n

The Toronto roundtable was attended by\u00a0Minister Kevin Sorenson<\/a>\u00a0(Minister of State for Finance) and\u00a0Ms. Marie-France Lalonde<\/a>\u00a0(Parliamentary Assistant to the Ontario Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure and to the Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs), who both spoke about the government\u2019s role in helping young entrepreneurs grow their businesses.<\/p>\n
