Sherbrooke earned the title by hosting 39 GEW events, including a lunch and learn for entrepreneurs, a workshop on financing your business idea and a <em>Dragons\u2019 Den <\/em>style pitch competition through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/enactusbishops\">Bishop\u2019s University Enactus<\/a> chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith the Bishop\u2019s University Enactus team, we were able to coordinate four events to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week, including the pleasure of welcoming successful local entrepreneurs from Sherbrooke and Montreal to attend our Guest Speakers Night, as well as the Dragons\u2019 Den event the following day,\u201d said <strong>Ashton Glenn, Bishop\u2019s University Enactus, GEW Project Manager<\/strong>. \u201cOur entire Enactus team was inspired by the entrepreneurial experiences our guest speakers shared in such a relatable form.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis was our third year participating in Global Entrepreneurship Week; we have seen more and more entrepreneurs and organizations getting involved, coming out to meet the rest of the community\u201d said <strong>Julie Plamondon, Coordinator of Entreprendre Sherbrooke<\/strong>. \u201cThis year, a total of over 1,600 people attended our activities. GEW is a great opportunity to rally our community [and is] a chance to see engagement efforts take on more concrete forms.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From November 13<sup>th<\/sup> to 19<sup>th<\/sup>, GEW took place around the globe, celebrating its 10<sup>th<\/sup> year. Approximately <strong>10 million people<\/strong> in <strong>160 countries<\/strong> participate in GEW events and competitions worldwide, inspiring them to engage in entrepreneurial activities while connecting with potential collaborators, mentors, investors and other stakeholders in their community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEach year, GEW celebrates the passion and drive of the global entrepreneurial community,\u201d said <strong>Julia Deans, CEO, Futurpreneur Canada.<\/strong> \u201cFuturpreneur was proud to be the Canadian host of GEW once again and to highlight Canada\u2019s amazing entrepreneurs on a global stage. We are grateful to those who hosted GEW events this year and were excited to see communities across the country celebrate entrepreneurship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, Futurpreneur saw nearly <strong>400 activities<\/strong> registered across Canada in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
