The medals were presented yesterday at CYBF\u2019s annual mentor recognition event at ALT Hotel \u2013 Quartier DIX 30 in Brossard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GEW Canada, which takes place from November 12-18, 2012, is committed to celebrating entrepreneurs and inspiring young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity from coast-to-coast. CYBF has mobilized dozens of partners to organize celebration events across the country, and the annual mentor recognition event was one of the activities taking place across Canada as part of GEW Canada celebrations to recognize and congratulate those who are paving the way to success for young and emerging business leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CYBF presented its Chairman\u2019s Awards for Outstanding Volunteers\u2014which includes the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals\u2014to business leaders Marie Legault Gaudet, Fannie Pelletier, Normand Pinard, Yvon Turcot, Normand Chevrier, Marcel Bergeron, Daniel Luquette, Marie-Mich\u00e8le Lessard and Gis\u00e8le Lacasse who were on hand to receive the medals for their tremendous contributions as mentors to entrepreneurs in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMentors are a vital component in the success of young entrepreneurs, providing support, encouragement and insight backed with critical experience,\u201d said Maude Theroux-Seguin, Senior Director for CYBF in Qu\u00e9bec. \u201cCYBF is proud to honour our mentors with this prestigious medal for their contribution and dedication to entrepreneurship. As a pillar of support for Canada\u2019s future business leaders, mentors are instrumental in helping build a strong economic future for Qu\u00e9bec and for Canada.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The commemorative Diamond Jubilee Medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country.
