The Pio Manz\u00f9 International Scientific Committee awarded Professor Isenberg the gold medal of the President of the Italian Republic for his \u201cpioneering work and innovative approach to foster economic development and growth\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are glad that this award has been assigned to such a brilliant person and friend, who represents a point of reference for all entrepreneurs willing to run a business in an innovative and modern way,\u201d said Jacopo Morelli, President of Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs, the association representing Italy at G20 YEA. \u201cSome of Isenberg\u2019s unique insights will be tackled during the next Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs\u2019 National Meeting. It will be focused on the integration of the European production system and held in conjunction with the G20 YEA Leadership Assembly, which we are honored to host.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here in Canada, the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF), founding member of the G20 YEA and the founder of the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit (YES), joins the Alliance in congratulating Professor Isenburg for receiving the prestigious Medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Medal of the Presidency of the Italian Republic is an award given at the annual conference of the Pio Manz\u00f9 Centre. The chairman of award committee is former Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev. Previous awardees include Henry Kissinger and Lady Diana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The medal was officially presented during the plenary session of the 2012 Pio Manz\u00f9 Conference, the 43rd edition of the International Conference, in the presence of a distinguished international audience and broadcast live on Italian television. Professor Isenberg participated in the three-day conference including a workshop on the opening day entitled \u201cThe backbone of the nation: the scenarios and destiny of Italian small and medium-sized businesses\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Isenberg is the executive director of the Babson Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Project (BEEP) which he established in 2010 to create action-projects in cities around the world to rapidly foster high growth entrepreneurship ecosystems, such as the Manizales-Mas project in Colombia. He is widely published, including several articles in the Harvard Business Review, and is a highly sought after speaker and consultant on global entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship policy. His book, \u201cWorthless, Impossible and Stupid: How Contrarian Entrepreneurs Create and Capture Extraordinary Value,\u201d will be published by Harvard Business Press in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am extremely humbled by the Pio Manzu\u2019s recognition of BEEP\u2019s work around the world to foster high growth entrepreneurship,\u201d commented Professor Isenberg, \u201cand I have had the honor of discussing this work with the G20 YEA at its annual G20 Young Entrepreneurs\u2019 Summits in Nice and Mexico City.
