CYBF contributes to the launch of online portal, jentreprends.ca

Québec, QC November 16, 2011 – To celebrate Entrepreneurial Culture Day, the Réseau des Carrefours Jeunesse-emploi du Québec launched today the website jentreprends.ca with the help of numerous partners including the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF).

This innovative portal is designed for youth ages 16 to 24 and aims to instill a passion for entrepreneurship by undertaking entrepreneurial projects and inviting them to experiment in the world of entrepreneurship, while video testimonials will allow youth to discover entrepreneurs from different backgrounds and from across Quebec. This unique multiplatform environment, a place to exchange ideas, to network and to share information, is driven by social networks. A simulation game to walk youth through the various stages of a start-up will also be offered online, during phase two of the project.

Jentreprends.ca was created as part of a robust dialogue among various partners involved in the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. In addition to the involvement of CYBF, partners included the Québec Entrepreneurship Contest, the Young Chambers of Commerce of Quebec. The project was conceived by Martin Thibault, president of Absolunet.

This tool is also the result of extensive collaboration among various stakeholders of the Youth Action Strategy.”
