G20 YEA Congratulates Daniel Isenberg for Receiving the Gold Medal of the Presidency of the Italian Republic
RIMINI, ITALY – October 15, 2011 – Today the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (G20 YEA) – the global collective of entrepreneurially minded organizations behind the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit – congratulated Professor of Entrepreneurship Practice Daniel Isenberg of Babson Global, for being awarded the Gold Medal of the President of the Italian Republic from the Pio Manzù Centre.
The Pio Manzù Centre, is a nongovernmental global and economic research institute based in Italy. The Pio Manzù International Scientific Committee awarded Professor Isenberg the gold medal of the President of the Italian Republic for his “pioneering work and innovative approach to foster economic development and growth”.
“We are glad that this award has been assigned to such a brilliant person and friend, who represents a point of reference for all entrepreneurs willing to run a business in an innovative and modern way,” said Jacopo Morelli, President of Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs, the association representing Italy at G20 YEA. “Some of Isenberg’s unique insights will be tackled during the next Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs’ National Meeting. It will be focused on the integration of the European production system and held in conjunction with the G20 YEA Leadership Assembly, which we are honored to host.”
Here in Canada, the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF), founding member of the G20 YEA and the founder of the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit (YES), joins the Alliance in congratulating Professor Isenburg for receiving the prestigious Medal.
The Medal of the Presidency of the Italian Republic is an award given at the annual conference of the Pio Manzù Centre. The chairman of award committee is former Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev. Previous awardees include Henry Kissinger and Lady Diana.
The medal was officially presented during the plenary session of the 2012 Pio Manzù Conference, the 43rd edition of the International Conference, in the presence of a distinguished international audience and broadcast live on Italian television. Professor Isenberg participated in the three-day conference including a workshop on the opening day entitled “The backbone of the nation: the scenarios and destiny of Italian small and medium-sized businesses”.
Professor Isenberg is the executive director of the Babson Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Project (BEEP) which he established in 2010 to create action-projects in cities around the world to rapidly foster high growth entrepreneurship ecosystems, such as the Manizales-Mas project in Colombia. He is widely published, including several articles in the Harvard Business Review, and is a highly sought after speaker and consultant on global entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship policy. His book, “Worthless, Impossible and Stupid: How Contrarian Entrepreneurs Create and Capture Extraordinary Value,” will be published by Harvard Business Press in 2013.
