TORONTO (September 5, 2017) – Futurpreneur Canada has supported its 10,000th young entrepreneur with business planning resources, financing and mentoring. Samantha Stuart of Samantha Stuart Photography in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, credits a workshop that Futurpreneur presented with the Northwest Territories Business Development and Investment Corporation (BDIC) with having given her the skills and confidence she needed to triple her sales and apply for Futurpreneur’s Start-up Program, where she has become the 10,000th entrepreneur to receive Futurpreneur financing and mentoring.

With Futurpreneur’s support, 10,000 Canadian entrepreneurs have launched more than 8,000 new businesses, creating over 39,000 jobs and contributing more than $244 million in tax revenue. Having worked with more young entrepreneurs than any other Canadian non-profit organization, Futurpreneur provides resources to entrepreneurs in every industry and in every part of the country.

“Everyone at Futurpreneur is thrilled to have supported more than 10,000 entrepreneurs through our Start-up Program,” said Julia Deans, CEO of Futurpreneur Canada. “Hitting this milestone was only possible with the support of many national and local partners including the Government of Canada and the Northwest Territories Business Development and Investment Corporation. Without their support, our 10,000th entrepreneur, Samantha, would not have benefitted from our resources, financing and mentoring.”

Like many of the entrepreneurs Futurpreneur has supported, Stuart is excited that she is able to work for herself and generate income for her family, and proud of the experience she creates for her photography clients. “Being connected with Futurpreneur has allowed me to increase my confidence and expand my support system,” Stuart commented when discussing her entrepreneurial experience. “From the workshop to my mentor, Futurpreneur’s resources have helped steer me in the right direction.”
