Growing your business is done in baby steps. Some people believe it is best to continually expand your network in order to obtain more clients and customers.

I say, start off by identifying, focusing on and surrounding yourself with a half a dozen or so trusted, ethical, like-minded professionals who compliment your business and your skill set. Consistently and methodically dialogue, interact and meet with those individuals, attend targeted events and follow up with them appropriately. In this way, your area of concentration is manageable and you are not spreading your efforts in countless different directions, without measurable results.

By undertaking the above strategies to growing your business, you will greatly enhance your chances of not only obtaining new clients or customers but also of giving quality referrals when clients ask you. Over time, you will build your network and create a win-win for all parties involved.

Once new clients or customers have been secured, be sure you work hard to consistently provide excellent service. Follow up, manage expectations and keep the lines of communication open. This will keep new clients or customers coming back again and again.

Happy Networking!
