Two Secrets to Staying Motivated in Your Entrepreneurial Journey
Leyla Razeghi, Ind Eng, MBA Strategy, Strategy Consultant and Coach, Toronto, ON
It’s a fact that all entrepreneurs have bad days, but unfortunately this often is not shared publically, which leads to us ending up feeling alone when we have a bad day.
There are two things that you can do to stay motivated and focused on your business:
“Don’t compare your beginnings to someone else’s middle”– Jon Accuff.
Unfortunately, since the media usually only shows the positives sides of people’s lives and businesses, it is easy to compare and doubt yourself.
Keep in mind that you don’t know the full story; people don’t usually share their struggles. Make an effort to remain focused on your own path and take ideas and inspiration from others, but don’t compare yourself.
Remain focused on your “why”
Formal strategic planning starts with finding your “why” or purpose, and building your business around it. This is very important to make sure you start your business off on the right food.
Living your purpose will help keep you motivated and provide fulfillment. Did you start your business to help people? To bring joy? Stay focused on your purpose and the struggle of the bad days will be worth it.
Keeping these two strategies in mind, and also remembering that there are good days and bad days, will help things get easier while you keep on learning about your business and your market.
