An evening of celebration…Spotlight on Entrepreneurs

Last night, 450 influential entrepreneurs, business leaders, academics, entrepreneurial organizations, and government officials and the leaders and individuals that support them gathered in Toronto to celebrate entrepreneurship in Canada.

CYBF’s Spotlight on Entrepreneurs celebration event was co-hosted with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) and held during Global Entrepreneurship Week. It also celebrated the designation of 2011 as the Year of the Entrepreneur, CFIB’s 40^th anniversary and CYBF’s 15^th.

At the event, The Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism) highlighted the incredible contributions that small and medium-sized businesses make to the Canadian economy, while three iconic Canadians (W. Galen Weston, Bruce Poon Tip and Sheldon Levy) received honourary awards for their significant impact on entrepreneurship in Canada.
