CYBF congratulates the Quebec Government for its Entrepreneurship Strategy

Montreal, QC, November 15th, 2011 – The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) applauds the Quebec Entrepreneurship Strategy (Stratégie québécoise de l’entrepreneuriat) announced by the Honourable Sam Hamad, Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade and the Honourable Line Beauchamp, Deputy Premier, Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports.

The Quebec Government can count on the involvement of CYBF, an active partner of the Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade for more than five years, to assist in making this Entrepreneurship Strategy a success. CYBF works closely with the vast majority of the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (Défi de l’entrepreneuriat jeunesse du gouvernement du Québec) partners to enable economic prosperity by helping young entrepreneurs realize their dreams of creating their own businesses.

CYBF has had tremendous success in Quebec. Forty-five percent of the new businesses the organization supports across Canada are in Quebec. The rich entrepreneurial ecosystem in Quebec and the current momentum in the province indicate that more and more young entrepreneurs will contribute to the economic development of Quebec in the future.

“Having just returned from the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit, I can assure you that the creation of an entrepreneurship strategy by a government is a unique initiative. We hope to see other G20 governments follow the example that Quebec’s leaders are setting. More than ever before, it essential to consider entrepreneurship as a driver of the global economic recovery”, says Valérie Bellavance, CYBF’s Senior Director of Quebec.
