CYBF honours outstanding leaders in entrepreneurship
Three Canadians recognized for excellence in entrepreneurship
Toronto, ON, November 7, 2011 – The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) is pleased to announce that three outstanding Canadians, Mr. W. Galen Weston, Executive Chairman, George Weston Limited, Mr. Sheldon Levy, President & Vice-Chancellor, Ryerson University and Mr. Bruce Poon Tip, Founder, G Adventures, will be presented with Honourary Awards through the 2011 CYBF Chairman’s Awards program to recognize their contribution to entrepreneurship across Canada.
Recipients and awards:
- Mr. W. Galen Weston – CYBF Entrepreneurial Nation Builder Award
- Mr. Sheldon Levy – CYBF Entrepreneurial Educator Award
- Mr. Bruce Poon Tip – CYBF Entrepreneurial Trailblazer Award
The CYBF Chairman’s Awards, celebrating its ninth year, are a standard in recognizing excellence in entrepreneurship in Canada. The annual awards program distinguishes Canadian leaders that promote excellence and advocate for social and economic growth through entrepreneurship.
“The three award recipients, Mr. Weston, Mr. Levy and Mr. Poon Tip are all leaders and promoters for entrepreneurship in Canada,” said Vivian Prokop, chief executive officer for the Canadian Youth Business Foundation. “We are thrilled to be recognizing such diverse individuals through the CYBF Chairman’s Awards. Through their commitment to progress and excellence, they are raising the profile of entrepreneurship in Canada and abroad. They are also an inspiration to young, innovative entrepreneurs working to build successful businesses.”
The three award recipients will be recognized at the Year of the Entrepreneur “Spotlight on Entrepreneurs” celebration event, on November 17th, in Toronto, Ontario. The event will be hosted by CYBF and the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses (CFIB), two of Canada’s preeminent leaders in Entrepreneurship.
