G20 Entrepreneurship Leaders Drive Strategies to Support Entrepreneurs
G20 ENTREPRENEURSHIP LEADERS DRIVE STRATEGIES TO SUPPORT ENTREPRENEURS
Canadian Youth Business Foundation CEO and other G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance leaders prepare for next global summit to foster youth entrepreneurship
New Delhi, India (January 11, 2012) – Today, Vivian Prokop, founding chair of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (YEA) and chief executive officer of the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) and the members of the G20 YEA, will gather in New Delhi, India to begin planning the next G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit to be held in Mexico City in June, 2012.
Attending the three-day strategy session are leading youth entrepreneurship organizations from the G20 countries, including Ms. Prokop representing Canada, who will work together to develop and refine the strategies needed to promote and strengthen youth entrepreneurship globally. The G20 YEA Leadership Assemblies take place each year between two consecutive G20 Young Entrepreneur Summits and provide strategic direction to the alliance’s work while also finalizing the focus and themes of the forthcoming summit. Like the summits, the leadership assemblies take place by rotation in member countries.
“A short 18 months since the inaugural summit in Canada, the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance has grown exponentially creating three summits, two leadership assemblies and numerous partnerships with global organizations such as Ernst & Young and McKinsey & Co. In addition, we have received endorsement by many global leaders,” said Vivian Prokop, founding chair of the Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance and chief executive officer of CYBF. “The G20 YEA presents an unparalleled opportunity to discuss key policy issues and share best practices. This fosters support for youth entrepreneurship domestically and internationally, all while benefitting the global community and economy.”
CYBF is a founding member of the G20 YEA, a historic network of leading entrepreneurship support organizations representing the G20 countries who seek to promote youth entrepreneurship as a powerful driver of economic renewal, job creation, innovation and social change. The Alliance was formed two years ago through thoughtful Canadian leadership by CYBF and the Government of Canada, which saw Canada host the first official Summit of the Alliance in Toronto during the 2010 G20 Leaders’ Summit. It was created to engage the G20 leaders in the cause of youth entrepreneurship, share information across borders, affect positive policy change and create a global network of young entrepreneur advocates while building a collaborative entrepreneurial environment worldwide.
Representatives from 19 countries of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance have confirmed their presence at the meetings in India.
