Entrepreneur Awards

Over the past 30 years, Futurpreneur-supported entrepreneurs have launched over 16,600 made-in-Canada businesses spanning every province and territory.

These entrepreneurs are the job creators and community builders, keeping the lights on along virtual and physical Main Streets across Canada. Their doors are often the first to open in the morning and the last to close at night.

The Futurpreneur 30th Anniversary Awards celebrate entrepreneurial leadership, business success and community impact, while supporting the continued growth of these businesses.

Entrepreneur nominees will be assessed holistically using four criteria:

• Business Growth & Sustainability
• Resilience & Adaptability
• Community & Social Impact
• Leadership & Inspiration

Judges will take into account context, access, and lived experience alongside traditional performance measures. The scoring rubric will be adjusted to recognize that not all applicants are expected to demonstrate all four assessment criteria equally.

Benefits of winning an Entrepreneur Award

Finalists will gain national visibility, storytelling amplification and connection to partners, funders and ecosystem leaders across Canada.

They also win cash prizes, with the top honour – the People’s Choice Award – valued at $30,000!

Winners will be celebrated on the national stage at Futurpreneur’s 30th Anniversary Awards celebration in Toronto on October 28, 2026.

Types of Entrepreneur Awards

We will select 30 national finalists, each of whom will receive $1,000 in recognition of their achievement.

Of these 30 finalists:

• Three national winners will each receive an additional $10,000.
• One finalist will be selected by popular vote as the People’s Choice Award winner and will receive $30,000.

Please note: The People’s Choice Award winner will not be eligible to be selected as a national winner.

Founders Hall of Fame Inductees

The Futurpreneur Founders Hall of Fame recognizes those who have achieved enterprise-level impact. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are welcoming our inaugural inductees into the Futurpreneur Founders Hall of Fame.

The Futurpreneur Founders Hall of Fame recognizes entrepreneurs whose businesses have reached enterprise or legacy scale – such as nationally or globally recognized brands, companies with $50M+ in annual revenues, 100+ employees, those that have seen major exits, and/or post-scale organizations. These founders are not eligible for the Entrepreneur Awards.

Futurpreneur Founders Hall of Fame inductees do not need to be currently working at their company, but their company should have achieved significant scale and prominence while they were still in a leadership role.
